World IBD Day 2021 – Break the silence!
World IBD Day takes place on 19 May every year and unites people from around the world in their fight against Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, known as inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD). In Europe, more than 3 million people suffer from these kind of chronic bowel diseases.
World IBD Day is led by patient organisations representing over 50 countries on five continents and is coordinated by the European Federation of Crohn’s & Ulcerative Colitis Association (EFCCA) with this year's theme "break the silence".
Every year, Tillotts supports local initiatives, events and activities to raise awareness on IBD and its impact on patient quality of life. Due to this current situation with so many COVID-19 patients, the high risk of infection and a possible severe course of the disease for vulnerable patients, we refrain from activities this year. Tillotts will, however, invite all employees and partners to wear the purple ribbon, the symbol of awareness and support for those living with IBD on 19th May 2021.
