A small fish in the big pond
CEO Thomas A. Tóth von Kiskér and Head of HR Gabriella Schraner were interviewed for the annual life science edition of the Basler Zeitung (BAZ), published on Friday 8 September 2017.
Focus of the interview is Tillotts’ continuous efforts to attract and maintain employees who fit the Tillotts culture. As a smaller player in the big pharma-pond, it is important to clearly communicate the benefits of working for a smaller company when trying to recruit new employees. “We have to communicate our advantages very clearly, as both the working climate and company culture are very different from small and big pharma,” Gabriella Schraner says. Whereas big pharma companies often look for professionals who are highly specialised in one area, Tillotts aims to find highly motivated professionals with a wider span of skills and experience, who are ready to take responsibility and leave their footprints on the projects, they are involved in. Gabriella Schraner further adds, “The employees are our most important asset, and we expect them to speak their opinion and stand behind them even if being questioned. We encourage our employees to think outside the box and swim against the stream.”
